Sorceress Edea is the main villain at the beginning of the story, but as the tale unfolds her role and importance changes. Once a matron of an orphanage with potential to possess great power, she was also once the ambitious and loving wife of Balamb Garden Headmaster, Cid Kramer. However, the power she posses one afternoon when a great and evil sorceress gave up her powers leads to her escaping the life of hope and good intentions, to falling into darkness and have a thirst for world domination.
Edea is a character who, at first, is shrouded in mystery. As the story unfolds we learn more and more about her past and her importance to the main characters and their ventures.
She, along with her husband, revolutionized the idea of Garden; a place where youth could learn and become active parts of society and protect the world from monsters as well as sorceresses. From Garden, SeeD was born; a mercenary group that severed as an extension of SeeD’s services to the world.
Orphanage caretaker to our main characters, great and evil sorceress bent on world domination, and creator of the worlds one defense against slipping into destruction: Edea’s role is an important one.
